Get to know us
We can't wait to meet you. Here's more about us.
You might be wondering, what’s it really like at AFA? We are made up of imperfect people with every kind of story imaginable and, simply stated, we’re all about Jesus. You won’t be met with shame, guilt, or disapproval. And we don’t care how you’re dressed or what baggage you’re bringing along. Jesus loves everyone, as his followers, that means that everyone belongs. Jesus also changes everyone who follows him, so for us that means that we’re all becoming who He created us to become.
Want to know the best part? No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have about God and faith, our church is a place where you’ll find the love, grace, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone. We’ve decided to be a safe place for regular people to explore faith and no one here is perfect. Everyone is welcome here, regardless of your story, your questions, your doubts, or your struggles. We don’t pretend to have all the answers, but we believe in a God who does.
People will be nice to you. And we’ll work hard to help you feel comfortable.
Excellent programs for kids are available at every service. And by “excellent”, we actually mean it – kids learn about God in an age-appropriate setting and have a good time in the process. Our nursery and Children’s Church provide fun and safe environments for your child to connect with children their age, caring adult volunteers, and an age-appropriate lesson from the Bible.
Our service will be a little over an hour (75 minutes if you’re attending in person).
There will be music. It will be loud: from the traditional hymns to the newest contemporary music. Regardless of what we are singing, we desire an authentic encounter with Christ.
The pastor will talk about topics that make a difference in your life. We put a premium on Biblically sound messages that encourage and challenge you to take the next step on your faith journey.
Some folks will be in jeans and some folks will dress up a little. The pastor usually wears jeans.
We’ll have coffee available if you want some.
